Status Update: I've spent nearly full time for 2+ days on 2018 senior pages. Got a big assist today from Brooke Eigenheer to identify seniors, so I can hopefully wrap that up in the next few weeks. WIll put that on hold the rest of today and add a few recent news items (like Josh Loftin's graduation from the Highway Patrol academy, Cole Hadley scholarship, 6/18 city meet, 6/19 school security summit, etc...). Nifty Fifties prints are on hold until senior pages are done. -- Ted Wright -- Tuesday 6/19/2018 (1:45pm)

If my quick math is correct ... today is the 119th anniversary of the first issue of "The Collinsville News" printed by W. L. Wright at the original Collinsville town site (May 11, 1899). The newspaper was published for it's first 88 years by 4 generations of the Wright family. The paper was sold in 1987 and continued into it's 115th year before publication ceased. If you add 15+ years of my cvilleok.com web site, the Wright family has documented the history of Collinsville for more than a century. -- Ted Wright -- May 11, 2018
