| FYI -- I was just in an informal meeting with the city, discussing the future of the Depot Museum and there will likely be a public meeting soon for anyone interested in that topic. Possibly getting the (dormant) Collinsville Historical Society back up and functioning is a key part of that discussion. | Terry Due Facebook Post 4/18/2016: Just received a call from Jason Turk a few minutes ago. His father, Mike Turk, passed away today from diabetic issues. Mike was a 1968 graduate of Collinsville and had retired from his principals position at Stillwater H.S. several years ago. He serves as H.S. Principal at Collinsville from 1987 - 1991. Services are pending. Please pray for the Turk family . Mike was loved by many former teachers and students. He will be missed by all of us who had the opportunity to serve under his guidance. | The funeral service for Michael D. | Yesterday the
H.S. Band went to state Concert band Contest in Jenks. They
received straight One's on the stage and a 1, 2, 2 in Sight Reading.
We are very proud of the band and all they have accomplished this
year. Our next performance will be on May 5th for our Spring Band
Concert, featuring the High School Jazz Ensemble and High School
Concert Band. The event will be at the H.S. Gym at 7 p.m.
The Band is also in the process of trying to acquire new uniforms for next year. Donations will be accepted at the Band Concert or anytime for that matter. The Junior
High and 6th Grade will have their Spring Concert in the same
location on Monday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. |

I ask you to consider all of the amazing Collinsville improvements which were made possible (at least in part) by the county Vision sales tax that was approved in 2003. City Hall rebuilt, Police Station and Fire Station built, major park improvements, Main Street streetscapes and S-Curve overhaul, American Legion building re-roofed and remodeled, and several other projects. That county tax is expiring and now individual cities are asking to renew their portion (at the same rate).
