(L-R) Will Steltzlen, Gary Wayne Harding and Christian Moody won individual 2014 state championships at their weights. This was the 4th state title for both Steltzlen and Harding which was a first for Oklahoma having two wrestlers in the same year complete the 4 year sweep. Gary Wayne Harding became the 31st Oklahoma HS wrestlers to win 4 times and Will Steltzlen became the 32nd. Junior Christian Moody won his 2nd state title and has also been a runner-up in his 3 years so far. | |||||||||||||||||
Collinsville had half of the wrestlers (7) in the finals on their side of the 5A bracket. All of the 13 Collinsvile state qualified wrestlers survived the first day and those not in the finals wrestled Saturday morning in consolation matches racking up additional team points for the Cardinals (not shown in these photos).. | |||||||||||||||||
CHS Freshman Nate Kiem wrestled a Deer Creek freshman in the 106 pound finals Saturday. Nate ended up the state runner-up in a tough 1-2 overtime loss. | |||||||||||||||||

Harding had his finals opponent on his back (below) 6 seconds into the 138 lb match but couldn't get the pin. Davion Jeffries was a 5A Collinsville State Champion last year (2013) at 113. In 2014 he was on the 6A mat in a Broken Arrow uniform and ended up runner-up. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Dixon triplets repeated last year's (2013) remarkable feat with 3 more (2014) individual state championships for 6A Edmond North. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4A Tuttle won their 6th straight state title ... giving the 5A Cardinals another goal to strive for. |
