Collinsville Digging Out From Snow Storm
Dec. 1, 2006
Nov. 29 & Nov. 30th Moisture
If you have snow photos or information you'd like to share ... please email to Ted Wright. Don't forget your mail carriers when clearing your sidewalks and drives!
With overnight sleet already and several inches of snow still expected today (Nov. 30th) things were white and slowed in Collinsville. Collinsville schools are closed today and Friday. -- Ted -- Thursday 4:40pm (Nov. 30, 2006)
The Library's Dec. 2nd Gala has been cancelled ... the silent auction has been extended to Dec. 9th and a reception will be held at the Library after the Christmas Parade. (per Susan Babbitt 11/30 5:15pm)
The "artic blast" has arrived and our recent 70 degree afternoons are now a distant memory. The 5pm Nov. 30th TV weather forcasts are saying we have a fair chance of significant snowfall still to come today. School is out, other events are being cancelled. The number of drivers I've seen in town today has been very low. I've opted to just leave my car in the garage and walk the short trip from home to work (& the city park). My only problem so far was an extra half hour just trying to get inside the Newspaper Museum today as the door lock was full of ice and the key was blocked until I sprayed enough de-icer to finally break through. My daughter Emily had mailed a sweater for our dog Georgia (above) which arrived today just in time for her to romp in the snow this afternoon. This has been an odd storm with a report of a young man struck by lightning Wednesday and Tulsa releasing their "first ever" blizzard warning today (for counties northwest of us). -- Ted 5:40pm Thursday

Iraq Bound -- This is a prayer request for my brother Richard and my cousin Michael. They left for Iraq and will be on the ground today. Please pray for their safety as well as that of their unit. Pray for wisdom and perserverance in the face of adversity. Pray their minds will remain pure and alert and that they will have foreknowledge of pending disasters. Please pray for my sister-in-law Keshia who is also a new mother that her heart would not worry and she will let the rest of the family help.
Thank you for your prayers. -- Julie Dermody -- Nov. 28, 2006 -- www.dandeliongazzette.blogspot.com
