EDITORIAL:
It's not fair! It stinks! ... chose your own description ... but it is a reality
for a few more weeks. As the city park improvements near completion the park is
still off limits for public use (with an exception for the softball field). And
to compound the issue for some youth, what was likely the first ticket for skateboarding
on the narrow sidewalks downtown was issued today after years of warnings. This
was perhaps forced by complaints following a near miss this week with a gentleman
being spun around trying to avoid a collision with a skateboarder as he exited
a downtown business. I not going to attempt to justify city, contractor or skateboarder
actions but simply provide this information as a public service with the disclaimer
that it is second hand information supplemented with my personal opinion. -- Ted
Wright -- Friday June 4, 2010 -- 10:45pm |
Ted,
Just wanted to let you know that we are having Josh's Softball Tournament tonight
