This 2 vehicle accident (by the S-curve) at 19th and Broadway occurred
about 3:30pm Monday Feb. 26, 2007. I assume there were no injuries
as I did not see EMS respond. -- Ted (My status
is about a week old but the city-county-ODOT joint effort to "fix"
the S-curve was stuck on getting ODOT to buy right-of-way all the
way past the high school rather than just to the nursing home in
the background of this photo). |
The scrimmage was cancelled today but the CHS baseball team practiced
then worked on field maintenance. They play Jenks (5pm March 2)
and Miami (3pm March 3rd) at the Hilldale Festival. David Chester
& Kevin Phillips practiced baseball today but hope to still
be playing basketball this weekend and beyond. -- Ted 2/26 |

Ted,
Just an FYI note. The boys basketball game between Berryhill and
Collinsville at Choctaw should be called, "The Battle of Choctaw
Mounds" as it is a Civil War because Berryhill's head coach
is Coach Chronister's brother and Tyler Chronister's uncle.
So it's brother against brother and uncle vs nephew this Thursday
at 3pm. Or we can dub this game "Family Feud". Just an
FYI and thanks Ted for your great coverage of our students. -- Cory

Beware:
I had a call this afternoon from someone claiming to be selling
ads for the Collinsville High School football program. I checked
with CHS Principal Cory Slagle and he confirmed that those ads are
sold by the CHS cheerleaders later in the year and the call I received
today was a scam. The caller
said she had my contact information from a Chamber of Commerce listing.
-- Ted Wright -- Feb. 19, 2007 3pm (I had
a 2nd call and got more info this time: Emily claims to be working
for Bill Rule at the high school to sell names on the footballs
tossed out at the games (for $200-$300) for 5 months. Again a check
with Cory Slagle and Bill Rule indicates this is an out of town
solicitation with no benefit to the local school or football program.

Ted-here is an update for the some of the kids that will be heading
