Editorial: Thank you to Bill Johnston for his efforts in this week's issue of the "Collinsville News" to help stir up interest in all of Collinsville's museums. My hope on this topic is that many citizens (young & old) will become part of an active Collinsville Historical Society. The items in the depot museum were donated by families with the understanding that they would be on display for all to see but the depot has been effectively closed since 2004. Citizen participation in the historical society has waned down to only 2 people (that I am aware of) and those two are extremely involved in other efforts on behalf of the community. If you would like to be involved in the Collinsville Historical Society, let me know and I will try to get a re-organization effort kicked off (or pass your info on to someone who can). And to further clarify, the "Newspaper Museum In Collinsville" (which is the only museum currently open) is owned by my family. There are some donated items there which I make available for public viewing. The "Woodruff Spacious Skys" & "Choo Choo Chew" are owned by Diane Newhouse and have not been opened for several years. The historical society only has influence at the depot (along with the city) but I would welcome some type of partnership with my museum. -- Ted Wright 9/14/2011 -- Frequently Asked Questions (#5 & #11) -- Aditional Newspaper Museum Info

I made my first ever bus road trip with the volleyball teams today (to Glennpool) and will have photos online in the next few days. I couldn't always see the score flip pads but believe Collinsville won all (or most) of the matches 7th-8th-9th-JV-Var. I have been to a few out-of-town Regionals before, but the primary objective today was to finally get action photos for the 7th and 8th graders who have not yet had a home game. Coach Smalyago says the teams will be able to begin practice in the CHS gym again this Thursday (Sept. 15th). The new finish on the floor (damaged August 10th) was completed Saturday and needed a few days to cure. -- Ted 11:15pm Tuesday Sept. 13th -- The CHS Varsity (20 wins and 10 losses before today) were ranked 9th in 5A yesterday at OKRankings.com
