now missed three school days this week (Jan. 27-28-29) that will need to be made
up and weather/roads much improved ... I'd bet school will be back in session
Friday. The three built in "snow days" had already been used (Dec. 15-16-17,
2008) so the school board will have to determine when the days will be recovered.
The photo shows crews clearing the parking lots and roadways near the middle school
and I'm sure the same is occuring at the other campuses today. -- Ted -- Thursday

help us remind merchants along Main Street that have new sidewalks to refrain
from using salt products on the sidewalk to remove ice. The contractor will
not warranty the sidewalk the first year if salt products are used. We suggest

Reed McMillian formerly of Collinsville, passed away January 22, 2009 in Port
Orchard, WA. He was 73. He was a 1953 graduate of Vera High School. Richard worked
as a banker and in management in the Alaskan construction industry. A Memorial

The CHS-vs-Oologah basketball game Friday (Jan 16th) is at
Oologah (the Feb. 16th game will be here) -- Ted | There
is a 4th grade basketball tournament in progress here this week at Herald Elementary.
The tournament began Monday for the girls. The boys begin Tuesday. The games start
at 6pm and the last game should start at 8:15. Games later this week are Thursday
(girls), Friday (boys) and Saturday (games on this day will begin at 9am) for

Just a reminder about the Basketball Game with the Harlem
Ambassador's -vs- the Collinsville Wanna Bees on
Wednesday January 14th at 7:00, at the High School gymnasium. Thought you might
want to know who some of the players on the Wanna Bees are going to be: Coaches
Ryan Christian, Arlin Stacy, Eric Dutton, Lance West, Rusty Poindexter & Matt
Davidson. Also, former Cardinal players Kyle Smith & Tyler Chronister,
Roberta (Thomason) Kickapoo, as well as a group of true "wanna-bees"
from the community. It will be a great evening of family fun! Admission is $10
with kids 4 & under free. All proceeds from this game will go to the Cardinal
Homerun Club & Cardinal Three-Point Club and the concessions will go to the
