100 Years Ago -- This small
news item appeared in the weekly Collinsville newspaper the day
after the earthquake in San Francisco. There was a more complete
account in the following week's newspaper. I was a little surprised
they had news here that quickly as there was no internet, TV, radio,
...etc. They did have telephones, telegraphs, and daily newspapers
delivered by rail from other states. -- Ted -- 4/18/2006 |
