Ted,
Here are some pictures that were taken during our drive for the
MDA. The firefighters shown are Derek Hunt and Shannon Arnold. We
at the Rural Fire Dept would like to thank everyone for supporting
us this year in our fight against MDA. The amount raised was 6000
dollars. That is one of the best years that we have had and we are
grateful for the support of our community. Once again thanks to
everyone for helping.... -- Ron -- 5/25/2007 |

Last
year I bought several real baskets of flowers and put them on my
mother's grave. I went to pick them up the next day and they had
been stolen. The artificial flowers were left but the real ones
were gone. What is ironic is I remember when I was young and my
mother telling me never to put real flowers on graves in Collinsville
because they would be stolen and then it was her flowers that were
stolen. With Memorial Day coming up I would like to remind everyone
that people put a lot of thought and money in decorating graves
for their loved ones. I like to replant what I buy for my mother's
grave in my flower bed in remembrance of her. Please don't take
what's not yours! -- Missy DeLozier (5/24/2007) |

Boys
State Golf Results: Jared Ward shot 77 + 75 = l52 and tied for 21st
in the State Tourn. This was his best 2 rounds in his three years
at the state. The tournament was cut short by 18 holes because of
the weather. Jared had to play 26 holes on Monday and 10 on Tues.
after long early morning delays because of weather. Early Sunday
morning a small tornado destoryed a lot of trees and the grounds
crew had to spend about four hours getting the golf course ready
to play. Most golf courses would have canceled the tournament but
the Head Professional at the golf got his crew together and got
the course ready to play. Then Tues. morning we got about one inch
of rain and we were delayed until noon before we could tee off.
Real proud of Jared. He is the first golfer that I have had who
qualified 3 straight years for state. -- Thanks, Bob Pratt (5/10/2007) |
May
9-11 was Oklahoma's Special Olympics. Collinsville had about 12
athletes competing. I had the privlidge of spending Thursday May
10 in Stillwater with several of the athletes, coaches and assistants.
This was my first experience with this and I have to say that those
coaches do an incredible job with those kids, one of whom happens
to by my son. This event is something that my son will remember
for years to come and I want to publicly thank these amazingly dedicated
and caring people who made it happen for him and all the others
that were able to compete this year. All of these young people are
returning home on Friday some with Gold medals in their event, while
others are bringing home the silver and bronze, and all bringing
home ribbons for placing in their events. Also I'd like to thank
the Collinsville Fire department for providing the escort out of
town, the way my son described it, I truly believe that by providing
that escort, you gave him one of the most thrilling moments of his
life. -- Deb L, Special Olympic Mom and proud of it! |

Hey
Ted..just an fyi
watched the (CHS Soccer) boys lose to Cascia
Hall 2-0
They did an awesome job playing the number ONE seed
game
was tied 0-0 until about 20 minutes into the second half..first
goal was scored after a bogus handball call which the ref called
inside the goal box for a direct kick (everyone from CHS side thought
it was outside the box)
second goal came not long after that.
The boys fought hard and should be proud of their accomplishment!
