After
a heavy mid-day rain "from the clouds" Monday (left photo), I figured
there wouldn't be any more work on the streetscape project in front of my museum
... but not too long after the rain had stopped I was surprised by a heavy stream
of water from "underground" spraying my window (under the awnings in
the right photo) ... see below for the source. -- Ted |
Hi Ted, Could you please
post a lost family pet on your website? I would greatly appreciate it. I know
your site gets alot of attention. Our dog has been missing since March 23rd.
His name is Poco. He is a 6 yr old male Lab/beadle mix. He is white with light
tan/yellow markings on his ears and back. Poco is a much loved family pet and
is wonderful with children. Poco was last seen Sun, March 23rd near road NS 406
which is west of Oologah. If anyone has seen him or has any information please
contact me at 371-2241. I would greatly appreciate it. -- Thank
you, Darla Martin (3/30/2008) |

Ted, I was
just wondering if you knew if they were going to actually pick up the rest of
the brush from the ice storm? I have a pile in my front yard that I can't haul
off myself because I don't have the means to do so and I can't afford to pay someone
to do it either. I have seen a lot of brush piles in town that I am pretty sure
that people would love to see gone. Surrounding towns are just about finished
with their clean up and ours really hasn't even begun. Just wondering if you might
know more then I do. -- Thank you, C.J. (3/23/2008) | Good
Question, C.J, ... but I don't have an answer. I attend all of the public
city meetings and have heard lots of options and dicusssions on equipment purchases
... but have yet to hear a firm plan or schedule. The City Park also remains essentially
closed pending removal of hanging and downed limbs. -- Ted Wright -- Sunday 3/23/2008 |

Black Jack Creek is full
after several inches of rain Monday & Tuesday (March 17-18). The road is closed
beside Holman Seed Farm. The Broadway Bridge and uncompleted Main Street Bridge
have water near the roadway levels. There is some brush apparent at the Broadway
Bridge but I suspect the creek banks have an abundance of loose brush from the
December 2007 ice storm that may or may not be a factor in the current water level.
