Lots of snow falling Friday Jan. 31st, 2008 but most streets and sidewalks are melting the snow with only a small accumulation (so far) on cars and grassy areas here. Heard Bartlesville has 6 inches of snow already. -- Ted 12:30pm Thurs [3:45 update: well over an inch accumulation now but roads still mostly clear ... & still snowing]
Big? Snow expected Thursday afternoon (Jan. 31st) A special session of the Collinsville City Commission has been called to address this topic (at 6pm Thursday Jan. 31st): "Discussion and possible action on FEMA Public Assistance Pilot Program for debris removal." For those that read the Tulsa World this morning, there was a some misinformation. The article said we have received 2 million dollars from Fema for electrical damages. This is not the case. We are still calculating costs with Fema. We have estimated well over 2 million dollars in electrical damage alone and we haven't seen every invoice yet. -- Maureen Wright (FEMA Coordinator for the City of Collinsville) -- Jan. 30, 2008

We added 141 new donors to the National Registry. I have lived in Collinsville my whole life and I knew the people here would show up to support one of our own. Ted, The City has decided to let people burn tree debris due to the ice storm but only if they meet certain guidelines. I have enclosed a copy of these guidelines. The individuals who wish to burn must go to city hall and pick up a burn permit. I have also included a copy of the burn permit. This permit must be on file with the fire department before any burning is done. If there are any questions they can call the fire department.
Thanks, Russell Young (Fire Chief) Jan. 23rd, 2008
