Six
years after winning the 4A
State Softball Championship the majority of the 2005 CHS Lady Cards
returned to the "home" field to visit and help cheer on the 2011 Cards
for senior night. I don't know who all may have new last names so will just
stick with 2005 names: L-R Front Row: Linsey Curtis (21), Lindsay
Dawson (49), Danielle Kern (4), Abby Miller (1), and Amanda Bolien. Back
Row: Katie Pelletier (19), Danyail Cantrell (17), Hillary Brown (16), Taylor
Whisenhunt (15), Ali Schultheiss (13), Kelli Dunagan (1), Jessica Carney (7)
and Jordan Perkins (6).
Missing: Rebyl Richardson, Katie Bryant and Mariah McElroy.
Marysa
Trost (#6) got senior night kick started with a 3 run homer in the 3rd inning.
Shannon Driggers had reached on an error before Samantha Smith directed a long
bunt single that advanced Shannon to 3rd. Marysa's shot over the right field
fence cleared the bases.
While
searching October 2005 for the softball
ladies (above) ran across this CHS senior competing in the Miss Collinsville
Pageant. Kelsey Cartwright
had some later success along these lines. -- Ted
Senior
Madalyn Fry (#2) got congratulations from Coach Rogers for this 4th inning single.
She also had an RBI double in the 5th inning for the final Collinsville run.
This
5th inning Skiatook hit was just beyond shortstop Shannon Drigger's glove.
Taylor
Harness (#7) pitched a completed game shutout. I can't recall a game where I've
seen more off speed pitches (by both pitchers) and they were effective (for
both). -- Ted
Alissa
Wilson (#17) doubled in 2 runs in the 5th and then later scored on Madalyn Fry's
double.
2011
CHS Softball Seniors L-R: Madalyn Fry, Haley Rinck, Alissa Wilson, Marysa
Trost, and Shelbi Brown.
The
2005 State Champions joined the 2011 Seniors for a photo below.
Kelsey
Olsen was pitching for the JV game that followed the varsity and senior/2005
activities.
