Community Church VBS July 26-30

Collinsville Community Church, located at 1400 west Oak, is excited to announce their Vacation Bible School will take place Monday, July 26, 2010 - Friday, July 30, 2010 from 6:30p.m. - 8:45p.m. This year's Vacation Bible School theme is: "Egypt-Joseph's Journey From Prison To Palace". Children going into first grade thru sixth grade will get the opportunity to 'Spend a while on the Nile!" Each evening, children will become part of history as they see, hear, touch and even taste what it was like to live in Pharaoh's empire! They will explore authentic Marketplace shops, visit Joseph (who's in Pharaoh's prison...then gets promoted to Pharaoh's palace!), take part in games, sing to lively Bible songs and sample tasty snacks as they discover more about how God was with Joseph in good times and bad. These experiences will make God's Word come alive with new meaning for all who participate!

As part of Egypt VBS, our church will join Operation Kid-to-Kid, an international mission project that allows hundreds of thousands of kids to create and send soft, cuddly blankets and Bible coloring books to hurting children in Africa. During Egypt, kids and adults will make special blankets that say "God Loves Me" right on them! World Vision will add these cuddly blankets to backpacks filled with health and hygiene items and school supplies. Other blankets will be used for neighborhood and community outreach.

Mark your calendar and make plans to attend VBS at Community Church as we learn about "Joseph's Journey From Prison to Palace". For registration information or transportation schedules please contact VBS Director; Mike Branen at 371-2622.

Money To Celebrate 4th
When you are watching the skys light up with fireworks Sunday night (July 4th) over Collinsville City Park you can thank GRDA for helping the City fund the annual event. City Manager Pam Polk (left) and Mayor Stan Sallee accepted an oversized $3000 check from Grand River Dam Authority's Laura Schuchman Tuesday June 29th, 2010 at City Hall. GRDA is the city's electrical provider.
