City, county and state level elected officials, the architect, builder, and "excited" Collinsville Police representatives participated in the ground breaking for the new Collinsville jail Thursday June 3, 2010. Acting Police Chief Daniel Boggs indicated the Owasso Police Department is also looking forward to the new Collinsvile jail as Owasso has housed Collinsville prisoners for the past eight+ years. The construction bid estimated completion in approximately 154 days according to City Manager Pam Polk. The city commission approved the basic jail bid recently with other improvements to the rest of the existing police station still pending. The base bid of Builders Unlimited ~$689K was accepted at the May 17, 2010, city commissionb meet. The project (& several others) is funded by the sales tax increase approved in early 2009.

The new jail will expand the existing police station to the west adjacent to 11th Street.
Jim Gabbert is once again the architect for city with the City Hall restoration, the new Fire-EMS building and MeadowCreek Methodist Church as examples of his previous work.
