OU’s Golloway Scheduled to Speak at Diamond Dinner

University of Oklahoma head baseball coach Sunny Golloway will be the keynote speaker at the annual Diamond Dinner, to be held Saturday, January 31 at the Collinsville Middle School.

Sunny Golloway has coached collegiately since 1992, when he was an assistant with Oklahoma before guiding the Oral Roberts' program to the NCAA Tournament in six of his eight seasons. He was named the eighth head baseball coach at the University of Oklahoma on July 15, 2005 and currently ranks in the top 20 in winning percentage across the nation among Division I programs.

Joining Golloway as Master of Ceremonies will be Chris Lincoln, Sports Director for KTUL NewsChannel 8 in Tulsa. For more than four decades Chris Lincoln has been covering sports. He has written about it and talked about it in newspapers, magazines, radio, television and the Internet.

The traditional Silent Auction will begin at 6:00 and feature a wide variety of items, such as autographed baseballs from C.C. Sabathia and Troy Tulowitzki, autographed photos from Hank Blalock and Terry Francona, four tickets to a Rangers vs. Yankees game, four tickets to a Colorado Rockies 3 game series, two tickets to the OSU vs Texas basketball game, four tickets to the OU vs OSU baseball game in Tulsa, private golf lessons, and much, much more. Dinner will begin at 7:00.

This year’s Diamond Dinner will have a Mardi Gras theme and the dress will be business casual. Tickets are $25 or $175 for a table of eight. Proceeds benefit the high school baseball program. Call 371-0216 to RSVP (leave msg.).
