FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Bartlesville-Area
Legislator
OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 5, 2009) A northeast Oklahoma legislator has been named to four committees for the upcoming session in the House of Representatives.
Rep. Earl Sears (R- Bartlesville), who is in his second term with the House, will serve on the following committees in the 2009 and 2010 sessions:
* Appropriations Subcommittee on Education; Vice-Chair * Common Education Committee * Wildlife * Administrative Rules and Advisory Oversight
Sears, who has served District 11 since 2006, said he was honored to be named to the four committees.
Im very grateful that Speaker Chris Benge thought of me to take part in these four important committees, Sears said. Each one is important to this state, so I feel fortunate to serve. I especially value my seats in the committees related to education. That has always been a big part of my life and I feel I will be able to contribute greatly in those areas.
Before coming to the House, Sears was the principal at Central Middle School for 24 years. In his prior service in the legislature, Sears has served on the committees for Energy and Technology, Telecommunications and Utility Regulations, Economic Development and Financial Services and Revenue and Taxation.
