Church of Christ Expansion Plans
Ted, Just wanted to give you an update on our church building plans. In the next few days, a demolition contractor will demolish the old "gas office" building located at 1002 West Broadway and the old house at 921 West Oak street. Temporary parking lots will be constructed on both of these sites initially. Architects will complete a "Master Plan" by the end of the year, with construction beginning in the spring of 2010.

Thanks, Don Witton

I'll have a bit more history for the former Ruth Fuel Gas Co. office at 10th & Broadway as this activity progresses. -- Ted
Vacant house at 921 W. Oak (across the street from the former ECC building which the church purchased from the school system).

Watch Your Step Downtown!!

Shop In Collinsville
Frank Moreland (of the City Water/Street Dept.) started with a hand held jack hammer then used a backhoe to lift out a whole section of old sidewalk in front of Bayouth Insurance at 11th & Main Wednesday morning. Similar holes were created on the other corners. Watch your step, but do come see us as all businesses in Historic Downtown Collinsville will remain open to serve you despite the on-going construction. We appreciate your business. -- Ted Wright11:30am 3-12-2008

Collinsville Main Street Enhancement Project, Phase 1 (12th St. to 10th St.)
Update from City Manager Pam Polk ~(3-10-2008)

Dear Main Street Business,

The long-awaited Main Street Enhancement Project funded by Tulsa County Vision 2025, State Department of Transportation, (and City of Collinsville) begins in March 2008.

City crews will begin by saw cutting portions of the existing sidewalk to install electric and water. A temporary rock fill will be used to provide a walking surface until the entire sidewalk can be removed and replaced.

Once all electric and water lines are installed, the remaining concrete will be removed, new water meter enclosures and electric street light bases will be installed and a new walk, paver brick edges, landscape areas, irrigation lines and street crossing bump outs and ramps will be installed by Bryant & Bryant, the contractor approved by the City Commission to complete the work.

The phasing of the work will generally be as follows:
12th to 11th - North side - saw cutting and electric/water line installation - early to mid-March.
11th to 10th - North side - saw cutting and electric/water line installation - mid to late-March.
10th to 11th
- South side - saw cutting and electric/water line installation - early to mid-April.
11th to 12th
- South side - saw cutting and electric/water line installation - mid to late-April.

City crews will begin removing all remaining walks with Bryant following behind with installation of irrigation, light pole mountings, paving brick and sidewalks beginning in late April. Bryant will work from 12th to 11th on the north side and continue working east to 10th. Bryant will then work back along the south side of Main from 10th to 12th finishing by late-June.

Main Street businesses can expect minor inconvenience to customers during the saw cutting process and from 3-5 days of minor inconvenience with the demolition and replacement of sidewalks during May and June. Crossing access ramps will be provided when necessary to provide entry to businesses during sidewalk demolition and replacement. Street parking on the opposite side of each block will remain as work is completed across the street.

Further infomation will be provided to each business within each block as work progresses. Businesses are encouraged to visit www.cvilleok.com and the Collinsville News for updates or call City Hall at 371-1013 and ask for the City Planner or Building Inspector.
