4. Discussion and possible action concerning Downtown Streetscape Project.

The Collinsville City Commission voted tonight (Jan. 17, 2008) to proceed now with the 2-block Main Street Streetscape project. The project had been set to start Dec. 17th, 2007 but had been delayed by the Dec. 9-10 ice storm recovery. Any further delays would likely have led to rebidding and more cost increases. City workers were already scheduled to do as much of the work as possible to keep contractor costs down. That city work will compete with on-going ice storm recovery. Mayor Sallee mentioned there was still a possibility the city would have to contract out some of the remaining storm recovery work. Further delays of the streetscape project threatened loss of significant ODOT and Vision 2025 funds which were possible due to the city's contribution. Approximate funding portions are: city $150K, Vision $150K and State $470K. -- Ted Wright -- 6:50pm Thursday Jan 17, 2008
