Collinsville's Hillary Brown Named
Softball All-Conference At USAO
SHAWNEE -- Led by first-team pick Morgan Thompson, five Drover softball players were selected All-Sooner Conference Monday by the conference coaches.

Thompson, a senior from Anadarko, becomes the 12th first-team selection for the University of Science and Arts after posting 65 RBIs and five home runs playing shortstop and third base for the past two seasons. Leslie Beaty, Jennifer Bridgforth, Hillary Brown and Marina Poddubskaya earned second-team honors after USAO posted its fifth straight winning season.

Beaty, a sophomore from Washington, led the team with a .316 batting average in her first season with the Drovers. Beaty finished with seven doubles, three triples and three home runs while driving in 23 runs.

Bridgforth, a junior from Yukon, had her best season finishing with a career-high .301 batting average with 12 sacrifice hits and a .324 on-base percentage. The speedy outfielder has played on USAO's two previous national tournament teams.

Brown, a freshman from Collinsville, was third on the team with a .282 batting average, but she led the team with five homers, 12 doubles and 37 RBIs. Brown started all 46 games for the Drovers and posted a .953 fielding percentage playing second base. Brown posted two home runs in the same inning this season against East Central.

Poddubskaya, a junior from Russia, led the team with a 17-6 record in her first season on the mound. She posted a 2.86 ERA and struck out 157 batters in 32 appearances. Poddubskaya set a career-high 12 strikeouts against Manchester College and threw a three-hitter in win over then-No. 2 and defending national champion University of Mobile early in the season.
She finished the season with a 3-2 win over Oklahoma Christian just hours after getting married at the USAO chapel.

The beauty of volunteering is you can take a break whenever you want to and you are a cherished commodity. We also have 20-25 event volunteers who help out during our big events. All we have to do is let them know we need help and they are here.

All volunteers will be honored by Tulsa City-County Library, Friends of the Tulsa City-County Library, and the Tulsa Library Trust for their valued contributions to our libraries.

Our Volunteer staff are one of the main reasons for our community success.
