Outstanding
Academic Achievements Awards (selected by CHS faculty) were presented
by the Nifty Fifties Alumni at a banquet Tuesday (May 1st) to L-R Back Row:
Richard Saxon, Addie Upky, Veronica Cook, Addir Marsh, Jessica Windschitl and
Rachel Smith (inset photo) and
Front Row: Jonathan Woods (inset photo), Kristen Slocum, Gayle Wolfe, Holly
Richmond and Toni Slagle. [Sorry I let two students slip away before remembering

Wolfe played a clarinet solo during the awards banquet.
Barbara
Harris Howard (CHS 1959) presented the Science Award to Addie
Marsh.
Don
Wasson (CHS 1954) presented the Vocal Music Award to Kristen
Slocum.
Kristen
Slocum and Holly Richmond sang a duet for the parents, friends, school officials
and alumni gathered at the CHS Commons Tuesday.
Bill
Thomas (CHS 1950) presented the Foreign Language Award to (CHS Junior)
Rachel Smith.
Shirlene
Gaylord Kerr (CHS 1955) presented the Social Studies Award to Holly
Richmond.
Evelyn
Kilpatrick Fifer (CHS 1959) presented the Journalism/Yearbook Award to
Addie Upky.
Evelyn
Kilpatrick Fifer (CHS 1959) presented the Instrumental Music Award to
Gayle Wolfe.
Virgil
Howard (CHS 1959) presented the Computer Technology Award to Jonathan
Woods.
Wanda
Gaylord Coulter (CHS 1958) presented the Vocational Agriculture Award
to Veronica Cook.
Darlene
Bowman Dunn (CHS 1959) presented the Art Award to Richard
Saxon.
Ron
Evans (CHS 1955) presented the Math Award to Toni
Slagle.
The
Collinsville
Nifty Fifties Alumni Association will also award scholarships of $1000
or $500 to a few of these students at the May 14th senior awards assembly
at CHS. The alumni group will hold their annual reunion June 9th. Contact
