A Mickey Mouse Santa and plenty of helpers greet Collinsville residents passing the American Bank of Oklahoma on the East end of town. The bank announced this week that they will have a new "sister" bank at Muskogee effective Dec. 8, 2006. American Bank of Oklahoma also has branch banks in Skiatook and Ramona. (Previous Coverage)

Preliminary dirt work at the site of a new Barnhardt's Restaurant shows promise of a new building soon on east Main St. In Collinsville. (Previous Coverage)
The asphalt base is now in place at the new CHS track but I suspect the turn in the weather this week (from the 70's down into the 20's) will delay the final special track surface application. (Previous Coverage)
Angel Tree update from Susan Babbitt (Nov. 15th) -- The Angel Trees will be set up in the three Collinsville banks sometime after Thanksgiving. We use the parade donations to help fill those not chosen by someone.
Also, One of the Scout Troops will place a mitten and sock tree in the Library from the first of December to the 9th.
Collinsville Downtown, Inc. received a $4000 grant check from the Walton Family Foundation on Nov. 21, 2006. The funds are to support the downtown program's work. The publishers of the Collinsville News had submitted the Collinsville program for the grant according to Program Director Nancy Phelps.
