Thank You Collinsville City Library!
I am teaching my second grade classroom using literature this school year. This summer, I chose a few books for each month/theme that we would use for our weekly reading activities. The wonderful library staff have chosen and ordered 24 books for each week that we use in the classroom. The children have really enjoyed reading from these books. They are so curious each Thursday about what book we will use the next week. It takes a lot of time to track down and order these books each week.

Looking Beyond
Veterans Day & Thanksgiving ...
Collinsville's Downtown streets were lit up Thursday night (Nov. 9th above) as City crews have repaired and hung the Christmas holiday lights (while temperatures were reaching the 80s this week ahead of Friday's cold front).
More Christmas:
Collinsville Christmas Parade: Dec. 9th (11am)
Festival of Trees: Dec. 7th -- Collinsville Downtown Inc. is asking for donations of "gently" used artifical Christmas trees to use for this event. If you have trees (5 ft +) that you would donate, please contact CDI at 371-5530.
"Christmas Drive-Thru At the Park" -- the Collinsville Garden Club has decide to wait until next year for this first-time event. We have already received a lot of items, but still need much more. We will continue to accept donated decorations through the next year. We are also asking area businesses and organizations to sponsor their own lighted areas in the park. We are looking for outside lighted items, new or used. Let's help Collinsville shine during the holidays!! Please contact Vicki with the Garden Club, 402-9265.
