Press Release: April
25, 2006 Collinsville EMS Director Receives National Recognition
The National Stars of Life is a special program. Its sole purpose is to publicly recognize and celebrate the achievements of all people working in the selfless and heroic world of ambulance service providers. The Stars of Life program seeks to honor outstanding individuals as a 'thank you' for their service, sacrifice, and inspiration. Just as importantly, the program seeks to honor these individuals as representatives and ambassadors of the emergency medical services industry so that government agencies and members of congress value the contributions made in every community in the United States every day. Sullivan was selected to receive this honor from over 190 ambulance services in Oklahoma. She has been awarded an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. to join EMS representatives from each of the 50 United States. The "Star's of Life" will attend meetings with their state Senators and Representatives, and other members of Congress to discuss EMS issues currently affecting each state, and to educate congress about the role EMS plays in public health and public safety. Sullivan was chosen
for this honor based in part on her consistent service record which
exemplifies Collinsville EMS' operations mission, her community involvement
and public education and awareness of EMS issues, and her professionalism
and dedication to the Emergency Medical Services and public healthcare. |
