CHS Football -vs- East Central
Collinsville Reaches 7 & 0 In Battle Of Cardinals
49-12 Win On
Pink Out Night
The Collinsville 8th grade band members made their "varsity" debut as they joined the HS Crimson Cadets in the stands Friday night.
Jake Tuttle (#21) rushed 60 yards on the first play from scrimmage and reached the East Central 2 yard line.
Jake Tuttle (#21) dove in from the two yard line for Collinsville's first score Friday with 11:23 left in the first quarter. Seth Weiser kicked the extra point for a 7-0 score.
East Central was forced backwards on their first series of the game and punted from the end zone but got a "roughing the punter" penalty call that gave them a first down at the 18 yard line.
Malcom Tillman (#24) scored the 2nd Collinsville touchdown on this 38 yard rush at 8:09 of the first quarter.
"Next Man Up" -- on the extra point attempt after Tillman's touchdown, the referee unexpectedly sent kicker Seth Weiser off the field (saying his pads did not cover his knees) ... so Jake Bays (#13) rushed onto the field and kicked the extra point for a 14-0 score.
East Central had driven down to the Collinsville 17 yard line before turning the ball over on downs. Brayden Burd (#22) took the ball the distance the other direction in two plays from that location. The 2nd rush from the EC 41 completed at 4:09 in the first quarter. Weiser's kick made the score 21-0.
Malcom Tillman intercepted an East Central pass on the last play of the first quarter and then Colton Allphen (#1) took a Cole Dugger pass into EC territority to start the 2nd quarter.
Grayson Boomer (#18) took a short Cole Dugger pass into the enzone at 8:18 in the 2nd quarter. Weiser's kick put Collinsville up 28 to 0. East Central returned the kickoff for a touchdown to cut that lead to 28-6.
Daniel Malon drew the name of Marlow Roddy as winner of the fundraiser quilt at half time.
All of Collinsville's young cheerleaders performed together at half time.
East Central fumbled on their first play from scrimmage in the 3rd quarter with Collinsville recovering at the 23 yard line.
Jake Tuttle (#21) scored on the next play (at 11:38 in the 3rd quarter) and the score reached 35-6 after Seth Weiser's extra point kick.
Collinsville's kickoff team
Jake Tuttle (#21) brought down EC's elusive Smith (#2) who was QB and ran back the kickoff earlier.
Cole Dugger (#12) with a short TD pass to Grayson Boomer (below).
Grayson Boomer (#18) scored his second touchdown of the evening at 7:06 in the 3rd quarter. Weiser's PAT kick moved the score to 42-6.
These offensive linemen were just a few of those finishing out the 3rd and 4th quarters. L-R: Cannon Howard (#72), Nusua Xiong )#57), Kaden Jones (#70) and Hunter Nelson (#61).
Seth Weiser (#6) reached the 14 yard line on this play the scored on the following play with 7:27 left in the game. He then kicked the extra point for a 49-6 score. I'm not sure when it started but the clock was running non-stop by this point in the 4th quarter. -- Ted
Caleb Mitchel (#28) made a saving tackle on this play but East Central scored a few plays later on an 11 yard pass at 1:26 and time expired before EC could kick off. The final score was 49-12.

Cardinal Football @collinsville_fb -- GAMEDAY NOTES
Tonight will mark the 16th meeting between Collinsville & East Central. The first game was in 1957 and Cville leads the all time series 11-4, including winning the last 3.

I believe the plan was for Ashley (Mom) to be at Sallee Field to watch Grayson Boomer catch 2 short TD passes while Kurt (Dad) was at Skelly Stadium to watch QB Seth Boomer start his second Tulsa University (ESPN televised) game which overlapped Friday night. -- Ted
