CHS Students followed
the band through the hallways and out the door as they played Oski Wow
Wow to dismiss classes Friday afternoon with a brief per assembly on the
lawn before they headed home and then to the game. |
|
|
As the wrestlers'
chili dinner was in progress across the street at Wilson Elementary, the
sun was setting on Sallee Field before the pre-game senior activities
and final regular season football game. |

There were CHS seniors
(football, cheer, band, volleyball, softball, and cross country) stretching
nearly 100 yards Friday night. I hope to have an individual photo for
each of them on their own cvilleok senior page in May 2015. Meanwhile
for this page I've selected Hunter Stevenson as he was in line "twice"
as he is both a football and band senior and he had a few extra "family"
members pop up in the background. -- Ted |

All
of the seniors for both teams were honorary captains for the coin toss.

|
I'm not going to
bother with a lot of game play by play but have selected this representative
photo as East
Central's QB Tre'von Cherry (#9) split the Collinsville defense on
several occasions with his speed on the ground and later with a few key
pass plays. |
|
Collinsville's defensive
task was even more challenging Friday after numerous fumbles set East
Central up with a "short" field. |
|
Blake Burd (#22)
picked up good yardage on this play and later scored from 13 yards out
at 2:19 in the 1st quarter to put the score at 6-9. |
|
This Shawn Koscheski
(#1) pass to Brett Erickson (#11) got Collinsville to the 13 yard line
before the first Collinsville score. |
|
Ryan Haymaker (#25)
scored Collinsville's second TD from 14 yards out as the offensive line
cleared the way with 5:45 left in the first half. |
|
Dakota Boggs (#53)
had the senior night kicking chores and brought Collinsville to 13-16
on the 2nd try of this extra point. I'm guessing EC's #17 was the one
called for offside on the first try. Boggs had a chance to tie the score
as the first half expired but a field goal attempt from the 7 yard line
missed. |
|
The
cheerleaders performed a halftime routine before the band's light show.
|
|
|
Josh Arnold (#43)
was Collinsville's last hope of stopping this 65 yard East Central touchdown
run by Cherry at 6:02 in the 3rd quarter ... but Josh lost the race as
the score reached 13-23. |
|
Neither team could
hang on to the ball on this play which started at Collinsville's 15 yardline.
Collinsville fumbled first and it looked like East Central would scoop
and score but they dropped it twice and it ended up at the one. East Central
scored on the next play to reach the eventual final score of 13-29 with
1:58 left in the 3rd quarter. |
|
Seth Boomer (#12)
was Collinsville's 2nd half quarterback as Shawn Koscheski sat out the
second half and Brandon Lowe was in street clothes. This pass reached
the hands of Chase Wilkins (below) but was knocked loose. |
|
Chase Wilkins (#7)
nearly caught this long 4th quarter Seth Boomer pass but had it knocked
away. |
|
Sophmore quarterback
Seth Boomer gained vaulable game experience in the 2nd half but also ended
up in East Central's kickers net on the sideline in the 4th quarter. This
was on a 4th and 17 keeper that came up short with about 10 minutes left
in the game. Marcus Tillman and Chase Wilkins both had 4th quarter interceptions
to keep the score from being worse. |

At
Friday Night Football Game |
The
Band Boosters would like to invite all Crimson Cadet Alumni
to join the band this Friday night in support of the Cardinals
as they take on East Central. Alumni are welcome to bring instruments
and join in playing Oskie Wowow, or simply sit in the band stand
and enjoy the music and football game.
We are excited
to see all the Seniors recognized that night, as well as watch
the Cadets perform their Annual Light Show at half-time.
And finally,
SMOKED TURKEY LEGS will be available Friday night! So spread
the word, and come support our Cardinals and Crimson Cadets.
With Thanks,
Erica Caputo
