November 27, 2015 CHS Football Skiatook Rematch |
Skiatook took the opening kickoff and marched right down the field until Levi Draper (#10) stopped the momentum with a tackle for a loss inside the 10 yard line. Skiatook settled for a field goal with about seven and a half minutes left in the first quarter and never scored again against the Cardinal defense.
Skiatook intercepted a long Seth Boomer pass to end Collinsville's first possession and drove deep again before the Cardinal defense stiffened.
Joey
Kripinski (#70) forced a high pass on Skiatook's 2nd drive that Brett
Erickson intercepted (below).
|
|||||||||||||||
Brett Erickson (#11) ended Skiatook's 2nd threat with 1:22 left in the first quarter and Skiatook hoping to add to their 0-3 lead. Erickson returned the interception out to mid-field.

A
bad Skiatook snap backed up Skiatook (from the 17) as the Cardinal defense
covered the play below.
|
|||||||||||||||
Marcus Tillman (#24) and Brett Erickson (#11) tackled Skiatook near the 2 yard line after the bad snap (above).
Tyler
Fanning got Collinsville to the 11 yard line in the final seconds of
the first half with a Seth Boomer pass.
|
|||||||||||||||
Cole Hadley (#9)
tried to get Collinsville on the board 34 seconds before halftime but
his field goal attempt was blocked and Skiatook returned it out to Collinsville's
37. That left the score 0-3 in Skiatook's favor. Note: This photo shows a problem I had with my camera shutter speed and the score board being out of synch. The human eye sees the display consistantly but the lights are apparently off? (or refreshing) periodically so more than half of my score board photos show blank displays rather than the down, yardage and time information I was hoping for on a rainy night when I chose to not keep my normal written notes. I don't have that problem with most football scoreboards but the Collinsville baseball and softball boards are often a photographic issue for me also. -- Ted |

Collinsville came out for the 2nd half in a different gear as they dominated Skiatook offensively and defensively. Seth Boomer (#12) lead Sam West (#13) with this pass as West got past his defender down the west (home) sideline for the first Cardinal score below.
Sam West (#13) crossed the goal line with 9:17 left in the third quarter with a 34 yard Seth Boomer TD pass. WIth Cole Hadley's extra point kick Collinsville was ahead 7-3.
Brandon

up the Roc Robbins TD below.
|
|||||||||||||||
Roc Robbins (#44) rushed for Collinsville's second TD from 10 yards out and about 2:50 left in the 3rd quarter. Hadley's PAT kick was low and the score was 13-3.
Seth Boomer (#12) and Jackson Wilson (#61) watch this pass into the hands of Hayden West (#33) as Collinsville continued to move the ball downfield in the 3rd quarter. The drive ended with a Cole Hadley field goal at 9:38 in the 4th quarter on a 4th and 4 from the 13 for a 16-3 score.
Seth Boomer (#12) was in on defense in the 4th quarter and went higher than the others and came down with this interception of a Skiatook pass.
The final Collinsville insurance TD had a level of difficulty as the ball was knocked free from Marcus Tillman (#24) at about the 3 yard line but Brandon Lowe (not even visible in this photo) ran under the ball before it hit the ground and carried it the rest of the way into the endzone with 6:20 left in the game (below).
Brandon
Lowe (#2) took a mid-air fumble recovery into the endzone for a 22-3
score.
|
|||||||||||||||
Cole
Hadley added the final point with the extra point at 6:20 in the 4th
quarter.
|
|||||||||||||||
Brett
Erickson (#11) had his second interception and return in the fourth
quarter.
|
|||||||||||||||
Levi Draper (#10) nearly added to the Collinsville lead but this 4th down pass attempt from Seth Boomer was knocked away late in the game.

The Collinsville fans have been frustrated the past two weeks with officials attempts to keep them off the field for post game celebrations at the neutral sites. They finally settled for an endzone gathering as the 2015 CHS Football team managed to win a semi-final game for the first time in history and will be in the finals next week.

The main show was the CHS Football Team practice on Thanksgiving Day (which is a good thing) ... but there was also a celebrity sighting as Lil' Wayne (also known as the hampster from Carol Ann Sallee's kindegarten classroom) made a brief appearance in the Sallee Field endzone. -- Ted 11/26/2015 -- Happy Thanksgiving
