CHS Football -vs- Pryor
7-1 Cardinals Are District Champs With Strong Finish In 22-3 Halloween Win At Pryor
Eye Test -- Stare at the the red drum long enough to convince yourself that the the flute players are standing on the drum head ... then shift your eyes just to the left to see 2 flute players levitate over the black drum. The CCC band members were dressed for Halloween and were only on the field for the pre-game spirit line.
Justin Kothe (#45) with a sack against Pryor early in the first quarter.
Tyler Forest (#81) and Marcus Tillman (#24) up end this Pryor ball carrier in the first quarter.
Roc Robbins (#44) appears to have taken on both of the Pryor options and ended up with just a hand on the QB who kept the ball. Roc hung on for the tackle and photo below.
Josh Arnold (#43) closed in on Pryor's QB rushing the pitch to the running back in the 2nd quarter. Pryor eventually reached the Collinsville 7 yard line before a 4th & 7 pass was incomplete with the Pryor receiver stepping beyond the back endline as he made the catch. Collinsville took over at the 20 yardline with 9:33 lef in the first half. Pryor got the ball back in Collinsville territory after forcing a fumble as they sacked Koscheski at the 27 with 4:58 left in the half. Pryor reached the 12 before kicking a field goal at 3:18 in the 2nd quarter (their only score) and led 0-3 at the half.
Justin Kothe (#45) made the tackle and nearly wrestled the ball away on this early 3rd quarter play.
Shawn Koscheski (#1) scored Collinsville's first points on this 6 yard TD run with 2:56 left in the 3rd quarter with blocks fromthe lineman and even a screening block by the official. The drive started at the Collinsville 48 after a short Proyor punt at 8:03 in the 3rd quarter. Cole Hadley kicked the extra point for a 7-3 score.
Josh Arnold (#43) and Marcus Tillman (#24) with an early 4th quarter stop.
This line rush likely contributed to a Pryor incompletion on 4th and 12 (with Chase Wilkins defending the receiver). Collinsville took over on down with 9:07 left in the game and still just leading 7-3. (L-R): Jacob Harrison (#51), Josh Arnold (#43), Roc Robbins (#44) and Marcus Tillman (#24).
Brett Erickson (#11) was wide open on this 22 yard TD pass from Shawn Koscheski with 6:14 left in the game.
The extra point attempt after Erickson's TD pass was supposed to be a Hadley kick but an errant snap brought holder Brandon Lowe to his feet and he scrambled near the goal line before the ball was knocked loose but recovered in the endzone for a 2-point Collinsville conversion. That made the score 15-3.
Blake Burd (#22) has eluded one tackler and looks to get past the block by Brett Erickson next (in the 4th quarter).
Ryan Haymaker (#25) scored the final touchdown from 2 yards out with 39 seconds left in the game. Hadley's kick set the final score at 22-3. Kutler Cole (#60) provide the final block.
