Alumni-vs-Varsity Softball
Fun & Competive Game Between Former & Current CHS Softball Players

The "rivalry" started early as the alumni bounced off varisity players as the teams took opposite directions for the traditional run along the outfield fence during pre-game warmup. The two teams had many sister-cousin-coach-player combinations.

Rylee DeLozier is greeted by cousin/coach Taylor Kite as she rounded the bases with a varsity home run.

Darci Chester (#22) added a back-to-back home run (after DeLozier's) to provide the winning margin for the varsity.
Breanna Creech was called out on this close play at first with the stretch by Brittany Kickapoo on a throw from right field.

Alumni first baseman Rachel Griffin tagged out the varsity runner on this play near home plate but wished she had a helmet also in the collision.

This Taylor Kite double led to an early lead for the alumni (with Darci Chester catching). Taylor is moving from Herald Elementary (3rd grade) to take her mom's place as CHS art teacher and also to coach the JrHi softball team this year.

Ron Evans (left) will be the announcer for the CHS softball games this season. Ted Wright (above) threw a ceremonial first pitch (as a poor substitite for former Coach Howard Ray who was unable to attend). That was certainly a "fish out of water moment" but I appreciate the honor offered by the softball boosters. -- Ted

Junior High Softball practices will begin next week at the high school softball fields.

* Tuesday-Aug. 5th 9:00-10:30
* Wednesday-Aug. 6th (100 out scrimmage Bixby at Bentley Park. We play at 5:00 & 7:20)
* Thursday-Aug. 7th 9:00-10:30
