CHS Football -vs- Pryor
Cardinals Won 41-14
On Rainy Evening
Now 6-2 On The Season
4-1 In District
Pryor's Band marched their program during pre-game ... and both bands were gone before halftime to better prepare for their "state" competition (OBA) the next day.
Collinsville's band played the National Anthem and entertained from the stands during the first half.
It took 3 tries to get an opening kickoff acceptable to the officials (backing up 5 yards each time) but Ashton Jones and the kickoff team still stopped Pryor at the 27 yard line.
Payton Russell (#36) took a Kolten Allphin pass from the Pryor 28 down to the 16 on Collinsville's first possession.
Kolten Allphin (#1) scored his (& Collinsville's) first touchdown on 4th and goal from the 5 yard line at 4:02 in the first quarter. Ashton Jones kicked the extra point for a 7-0 score. Pryor answered with a 65 yard (no huddle) scoring march and a 2-pt pass to claim a 7-8 lead with 42 seconds left in the 1st quarter.
Brayden Gilkey (#42) had a big gain in Collinsville 2nd possession which ended with an Ashton Jones field goal (from the 6) at 6:50 in the second quarter and a 10-8 score. Pryor answered again, this time with an 82 yard drive ending with an 11 yard TD run at 3:27 2Q, but their PAT attempt was short leaving the score at 10-14.
The exchange between running back Jeran Seabolt (#11) and QB Kolten Allphin (#1).
Collinsville fans and coaches thought the Cardinals had scored on this Allphin to Andrew Wilson (#8) pass right an the endline with 16 seconds left in the first half but the ball came free. On the next play, Allphin was sacked and the ball came free as he was ruled down at the 20 with 4 seconds left setting up the sequence below.
Pryor tried to ice Ashton Jones' field goal attemp from the 20, by calling back-to-back timeouts, but he nailed the 3rd attempt as time expired to send the Cardinals to the locker room trailing by only one at 13-14.

Legendary Oklahoma State Coach Gary Ward among Collinsville Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees for 2020 class -- By Shawn Hein Sports Editor (Owasso Reporter) 10/24/2019
The halftime activities were limited to only the Hall of Fame announcement (above) as the Collinsville Band left early to prepare for Saturday's OBA marching competition and the Collinsville Cheerleaders opted not to risk more injuries with their planned tumbling routine on a slick field. The first quarter was dry but light rain fell during most of the second quarter. There was occasional rain in the second half.

The cheerleaders had 2 bonus members (from the Trap) helping out Friday
Eli Benham (#10) broke up this long Pryor pass attempt in the 3rd quarter.
Kolten Allphin (#1) scored his second touchdown (from 2 yards out) at 3:33 in the 3rd quarter and the score became 20-14 with Jones' PAT.
Pryor had answered Collinsville's first half scores ... but not so in the second half. Caden Buoy (#4) recovered this Pryor fumble at the Pryor 37 with 3:01 left in the 3rd quarter.
The exchange from center Kaden Jones (#70) to QB Kolten Allphin (#1).
Kolten Allphin (#1) reversed course to take atvantage of the knock down block by Zach Morris (#62) and scored his 3rd touchdown from the 19 yard line at 11:10 in the fourth quarter. Jones kicked the extra point for a 27-14 score.
Brayden Gilkey (#42) ran the ball from the Cards 36 all the way down to Pryor's 14 on this 4th quarter play.

Several Collinsville plays had a shot at this Pryor fumble before Eli Benham (#10) finally wrapped it up at Pryor's 39 and 8:56 left in the game.
Jeran Seabolt (#11) scored the final touchdown (from the 1) with 5:54 left in the 4th quarter. Ashton Jones converted the extra point kick for the final 41-14 score.
Pryor turned the ball over on downs at Collinsville's 18 with 3:33 left in the game. Payton Stacy (#24) helped run out that remaining time with 5 straight carries out to Collinsville's 45.
Ted Note: I have witnessed many big wins for the football Cardinals with Coach Kevin Jones following up with a calm and reserved on-field speech to his players ... but I don't recall Kevin being more obviously excited and proud of a squad for how they responded to dominate in the second half after a first half dogfight with Pryor.
