CHS Band Director Richard
Newhart was the primary target for sprayed silly string during the final (fun)
song performed Tuesday in the CHS gym during the Spring Concert.
Many awards for outstanding
band members were made following performances by the Beginning Band, Advanced
Band, Honors Band and High School Band.
The CHS band will also
perform at Baccalaureate (May 15) and Graduation (May 17).
Paisley
Eberle won the John Philip Sousa Award which is the top high school
band honor (presented by Richard Newhart). She also received the first scholarship
awarded by the Band Booster.
Director
Ron Lewis bid farewell to the band and parents as he will be with a Van Buren,
Arkansas, band next fall.
Jeslyn
Crowder was named the Outstanding Woodwind player for the Beginning Band.
Timothy
Aman was named the Outstanding Brass player for the Beginning Band.
Heather Thompson was named

This
is just a part of the CHS Percussion Ensemble that performed a Star Wars (Cantina)
number.
Knowing
that Paisley Eberle (the very first C.H.
Wright 7th Grade award winner in 2006) was about to graduate,
I requested a group photo of all the winners so far. Kody Compton won in 2007.
Marissa Jennings won in 2008. Josh McBlair won in 2009. Megan House won in 2010.
Logan Robertson is the 2011 winner. -- Ted Wright (Claude Henderson Wright's
Grandson)
