Track
Pressbox & Bleachers |
The new pressbox and bleachers at the CHS track are "within about 10 days of completion" according to Terry Due's report to the School Board July 13th. The first home track meet back in April utilized temporary stands and had no press box. |
Ted's
Candidate For "Street Most In Need of Repair" |
I
have not yet seen a city plan or priority list for street sections to be repaired
(3.3 miles of overlay ...
following the April sales tax vote approval and July 1st start of increased tax
collection). As usual I'm not not above sharing my personal opinion but will also
welcome a few other "worthy" candidates from cvilleok.com viewers. My
candidate street section is Maple just west of 19th Street leading to the entrance
to the football field and in front of Miracles of Faith Church. If there is no
other traffic you can avoid the numerous potholes by changing lanes a few times
but it sure would be nice to have this stretch of road more vehicle friendly before
the first home varsity football game (Sept. 11th). And there are plenty of other
activities before then including a scrimmage & "Meet The Cards",
etc... -- Ted Wright -- wrightted@aol.com --(comments) |
School
Brick |
The Vocational Agriculture (FFA) building at the High School received a brick facade this summer along with additional lighting that will help with visibility on the north end of the main CHS parking lot. |
The newly completed classrooms at CHS (combined a previous addition that was also just bricked) will become the "9th Grade Center" with many of the freshman classes and lockers there. The covered canopy is completed providing better weather protection as students move to.from the main building. (Previous Coverage) |
I'll have to get you a photo later but Herald Principal Rachel Chronister says her new classroom addition is "beautiful" and much needed. (Previous Coverage) |
Tennis
Court Improvement |
A crew has begun the process of removing the old damaged surface from the tennis courts in City Park today. I don't have an estimated completion but know there are many local tennis players waiting anxiously for the new playable surface to be available. -- Ted 7/14/2009 |
