Cherokee Nation Helped Collinsville Police With Camera Funds
The Cherokee Nation (with an assist from District 8 Councilman Buel Anglen) provided $4800 to the Collinsville Police Department to outfit two patrol cars with in-car video cameras. Two additional cameras have been purchased with grant money for two other police units. The video can be transferred to computer files for later use as evidence.
There was a small gathering Monday morning (Feb. 9th) at City to thank the Cherokee Nation for their continued support of Collinsville. L-R: City Manager Pam Polk, Officer Bryan Smith, Police Chief Charlie Annis, Councilman Buel Anglen, and Mayor Stan Sallee. Anglen indicated the a portion of the funds are a direct result of the successful Cherokee Tag Agency located in Collinsville that serves residence locally as well as Tulsa, Bartlesville and Claremore.
The two Collinsville Police vehicles with the new cameras have decals indicating their source.
