Jonathan Beweley (#16) takes this fly ball for an out.
Face-down or face-up it was still painful for Catoosa at 1st base in the second game. In the top photo David Chester scoops a low throw for an out as the runner dove ackwardly into 1st. In the bottom photo David tries to help up another Catoosa runner he stopped cold in his tracks with a tag on an off base throw in the 7th inning.
Jimmy West took over catching chores for Ryan Coe late in the second game against Catoosa Saturday. Jimmy had already fielded at first base, third base and pitcher before moving behind the plate. Jimmy said he had not caught in about two years. Coe had played with an injured hand which he put in the ice bucket when West came in.
Jimmy West was tagged out at home in the 5th inning of the second game. West opened the inning with a double and tried to score on David Chester's double.
Jonathan Beweley holds the ball high after stepping on 2nd for the force and final out and the win Saturday.
Kevin Phillips (#4) was the closer for the Cards in the second game pitching the 6th and 7th innings. Catoosa had the bases loaed with one out in the 6th but Kevin got out of the jam giving up only 1 run sending Collinsville to the 7th still up by a single run.
