The Friends of the Collinsville Library Invite You To Our Annual Gala
"Blue Hawaii Luau"
Saturday, August 13th
7:00 - 9:30 PM
At the First Baptist Church
1301 W. Main Street
Collinsville, OK

Last year's gala was such a huge success! Unfortunately we had to turn many folks away at the door, as we were just too crowded. For that reason we have decided to have a luau again this year. Our theme is "Blue Hawaii" based on the popular 1960's Elvis movie.

We have made many improvements to this year's luau. This year's gala features double the space and double the entertainment! We also are discussing having two buffets set up if space allows. What we are NOT doubling this year is the number of tickets available. Only 150 tickets will be sold for this event.

We have hired a different and larger professional hula group to perform this year (Hula Halau O Leilani from Tulsa). The group will consist of at least twelve dancers. This year's gala will also feature a performance by Elvis Presley Tribute artist, Bobby Churchill.

Also new this year is the introduction of advance seating tickets. We hope this will help ease the crowds in the buffet line. For only a few dollars more you will be able to enter the luau at 6:45PM and get a head start through the buffet before the main crowd enters at 7:00PM.

We have made one more change: All tickets must be purchased in advance for this event. Tickets WILL NOT be available at the door this year. We also recommend you make reservations early as this event sold out very quickly last year.

· Adult tickets are $12 and Child tickets (Ages 10 and under) are $5.

· Advance seating tickets are available for $15 adults and $6 for children (10 and under.) Advanced seating is limited so please order early. (Update: we only have about 25 advanced tickets left)

Note: Reservations made for groups of 6 or more must be paid for within one week of making them.

Attire for this event is fairly casual. We do request that "Aloha" attire be worn if possible.

If you are interested in helping with this event or donating pies for the pie auction, please call 596-2840 for additional information. We are also asking local community groups and organizations to again donate pre-purchased fruit trays or uncut fruit (Pineapples, melons or other tropical fruit) for the event.

2nd Annual Chocolate Bake-Off At the Collinsville Library

Noon - 2:30 PM
August 20th
(Collinsville Founder's Day)

The Friends of the Collinsville Library have canceled this year's Chili Cook-Off in order to focus on the Chocolate Bake-Off.

F.O.C.L. has made lots of exciting changes to this year's chocolate contest including more cash prizes!

This year winners will not be announced until 2:30PM. This should cut down on the long waiting period taster's have experienced before they could start sampling goodies.

As always, samples will be available for everyone to try after the main judging is completed. Guests will be able to purchase tasting kits for a suggested donation of $3 each. All proceeds from this event go to the Friends of the Collinsville Library.

Due to popular demand, we have included a Taster's Choice prize category this year. Everyone who purchases a tasting kit will receive one ticket to put into the box next their favorite tasting entry. Taster's Choice judging will end at 2:15 PM. The entry with the most tickets will receive a whopping $50 cash prize!

Entry Forms are available at the Collinsville Library.

Special thanks to Tammy Sirmon for serving as our On-Site Coordinator again this year!
