Park Pavilion Gone
The grand old pavilion has been torn down and the slab removed from Collinsville City Park. I'm not sure exactly when it went away nor if there are any plans to replace it? -- Ted Wright -- (Tweet)
Casey's General Store Progress Continues
The soon-to-be Casey's General Store (& gas station) is progressing rapidly at 9th and Main where the former Sale Barn/Clark's building was removed back in December 2017.
RCB Bank Re-Do
I've not heard what is going on at RCB Bank but am watching as changes to the exterior continue. -- Ted
Safe Routes To School Project
It looks as if the majority of the sidewalk work is done now for the "Safe Routes To School" city grant project. The crosswalk markings and mechanisms remain to be added. The top photo shows the new sidewalk on the east side of 129th E. Ave. across from the elementary schools (Herald, CUE & ECC). The bottom photo is north of the Middle School on the west side of 14th St. between Main and Broadway.
Silver Dollar Cafe Front Entry Re-Opened
Customers can once again enter and exit Collinsville's Silver Dollar Cafe (at 11th & Main) via the front entry which had be be restored after a car crash destroyed the front facade just over a year ago in January 2017 .
Odd to see emergency vehicles near Silver Dollar Cafe on the 1 year anniversary of the front crash. But things under control at the alley this year nearer RCB Bank with a small gas leak. -- Ted ~12:40pm 1/23/2018
