High School Track at Glenpool Friday March 10, 2017

Sunday 3/12/2017 Facebook - (HS Boys 8th & Girls 9th Place at Glenpool) --

On Friday the men's and women's track teams opened the 2017 outdoor season at Glenpool. Our focus going into this first meet was on competing and learning. Although there were some great performances, there were also a lot of learning moments as we have a lot of athletes competing in their first high school season, and some from basketball that won't compete until after spring break. We are very proud of our teams for their efforts at Glenpool. The attached link will take to all team and individual scores.

Congrats to Chandler, and Annie for winning their events. A special congratulations goes to some of our youngest competitors for their amazing finishes in their first high school track meet. Zach Robbins finished sixth place in shotput and was the runner-up in the discus event with a throw that broke our school record! Our two young pole vaulters had personal records against some amazing 5A and 6A competitors.

We will be having spring break practices on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10-12.

It might not seem track related ... but if I hadn't gone to the track pie auction at the High School Tuesday I would have missed this sunset. The western sky was full of smoke from the wildfires in northwest Oklahoma. -- Ted Wright
