Oklahoma Academic All-State
& Likely Headed To MIT For College
of Technology (MIT) is the likely next stop for Cannon Vogel
after graduation from Collinsville High School this May. MIT is
Canon's top college choice and he has been acepted.
will receive these two certificates (Oklahoma Academic All State
& National Merit Scholar) along with others, at the May 12 CHS
Senior awards assembly (6:30pm in the CHS Commons).
|Cannon Vogel was
notified a few weeks ago that he had been selected as one of the rare
National Merit Scholars for 2015, but the formal
announcement could not be made until April 22. To mark that occasion,
this group posed for a photo at Collinsville High School yesterday (L-R):
Collinsville School Superintendent Lance West, (Mom) Mitzy Vogel, Cannon
Vogel, (Dad) Rick Vogel, and CHS Principal Jon Coleman.
The National Merit
Scholar Program is fully funded by private companies and corporations.
Each year they give financial scholarships to the National Merit Scholars.
Each scholar is given one from a specific company. Cannon will receive
one from AEP/PSO in the amount of $4,000.
