Resourceful Character Kids
Wilson students are learning about Resourcefulness during the month of February. Resourcefulness is defined as the ability and creativity to cope with difficulties. Our quote for Resourcefulness is by Jean Toomer - "We learn the ropes of life by untying its knots."

Our first and second grade classes have chosen students who demonstrate resourcefulness in their daily lives:

2013 CHS (Zoo) Prom Info

The 2013 Junior/Senior Prom entitled “Moonlight Masquerade” will be Sat. April 13th at the Tulsa Zoo. Students and their guests may start entering the zoo gates at 6:30pm and will be able to ride the zoo train and walk around the zoo grounds until 8:00pm. Family and friends may arrive early and take pictures outside the zoo gate but will not be allowed inside the gate. At 8:00pm they may enter the H.A. Chapman Event Lodge. The dance will be from 8:00pm until 11:00pm. All students must be off zoo grounds before 11:30 pm. Snack foods, drinks and dessert will be served. All guests must be under 21 as of 4/13/13. Students will need to pick up a guest pass from Mrs. DeLozier if they plan to bring a guest who does not currently go to Collinsville High School. Tickets will go on sale after Spring Break and they will be $20 each. (We regretfully had to raise the ticket prices this year by $2 because the zoo charges an admission price for everyone who enters the gates, even if it’s after hours).

The theme this year is Masquerade and we encourage everyone to wear a masquerade style mask that matches their attire. This type of mask is a partial face mask covering only the eyes and forehead. Masks that cover the entire face/head or masks that do not follow the masquerade theme will not be allowed and will be confiscated upon entry. All students (current CHS students) and their guests will need to bring a photo ID with them when they check in. Everyone will be given a wristband with their name on it and must wear the wristband the entire time they are on zoo property. Any misbehavior or destruction to zoo property will result in disciplinary actions taken by the Collinsville Police Department and/or Tulsa Police Department. There will be a no tolerance policy on this matter. Please email Mrs. DeLozier, Junior Class Sponsor, for further questions. mdelozier@collinsville.k12.ok.us

Almost a Snow?
This was the scene for CHS basketball fans leaving the gym Tuesday evening (Feb. 12th) with a bit of evening snow on cars and grass but melting on warm roadways ... after light misting rain most of the day. I'm still reluctant to call my first "official" snow of the season. We've had at least three minor frozen moisture events so far in this unseasonably warm "winter" but nothing measurable that I've seen. -- Ted
Last year I made the call at Jan. 11, 2012 with Jan. 28th in 2005 being my latest "call" prior to this odd year. -- Ted Wright 2/13/2013
