Although most local folks may have seen a few pre-Christmas flakes, I'm declaring the surprise light snow we received Wednesday Jan. 11, 2012 as cvilleok's "first" snow of this mild (so-far) winter. Ground temps were still high enough that nothing was sticking to the roads but the grassy areas had maybe a quarter inch as the brief storm blew past. -- Ted
As the high school band students were leaving the band room (at the middle school) just before 9am Thursday there was still enough snow for perhaps a snow ball or two to fly.
