I hear the CHS Softball Ladies will be leaving for OKC approximately 4pm this afternoon (Wed. Oct 10th) from CHS. Would be nice to have a crowd to send them on their way to the State Tournament. -- Ted

My coverage of CHS State Softball will be unfortunately brief.

I was stuck in a city (Hazard Mitigation Plan) meeting Wednesday when the team bus left for OKC escorted by the Fire Department and parents. The two photos (above) of the bus departure were taken by Shannon Wilson.

I was on my way to OKC this morning for the Carl Albert game but didn't even make it to the end of the turnpike. I spent most of my morning instead waiting on a tow, then parts and repairs for my vehicle after a break down near Wellston.

Jim Riley provided the only photo I have (above) from today's game. Carl Albert was in the field with a Cardinal base runner on 2nd base. I also received a text from Jim with a 1-6 score in the top of the 6th inning before receiving the final 2-10 score update. -- Ted Wright 10/11/2012

Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents for an excellent season!

And for anyone keeping score ... I seem to be losing the battle between the turnpike and my Blazer as I also missed the State Cross Country meet just under a year ago with another vehicle breakdown. -- Ted -- 10/12/2012
