Collinsville Main Street Chili Cook-Off
Rescheduled To April 10
(Antiques & Pets Also)

Ooops - did we ever goof! When we first scheduled the chili cook-off for April 3, we did not realize that was Easter weekend. After reconsideration the event is now rescheduled for Saturday, April 10 at the Collinsville City Plaza. So find your favorite chili recipe and cook up a crock pot (or two) and bring it down to the Plaza on Saturday April 10 for some fun times.

You may enter your chili in one of three categories: Traditional, Set your jeans on fire, and game. The entry fee is $10.00 for each pot of chili. Entry forms may be picked up at the Main Street office and local banks. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category; $100, $50, and $25 respectively.

Not a chili cook?? Just don't like chili?? Come on down! There are other activities to be involved in. Beginning at 10 a.m., Mr. Trent Rogers of Rogers & Sons Antiques in Collinsville will be available to give you an opinion of what your valuables are worth. Mr. Rogers has 36 years experience in the antiques and collectibles market. There is no fee for his opinion but donations will be accepted. All proceeds to benefit the Collinsville Main Street Program.

At 11 a.m., Hometown Real Estate is sponsoring a pet contest opened to anyone who thinks they have the cutest, smartest, best dressed, or most unusual pet. Cash prizes will be awarded at the contest. Those who enter the pet contest will receive $1.00 off coupon to the chili cook-off.

The Chili Cook-off will begin at 12:30. Tasting kits will be available for $5.00. Find your favorite chili and purchase a big bowl for just $1.00. Fritos and drinks will also be available for $1.00. COME JOIN US FOR A DAY OF FUN!!
