Previous Coverage:
Hilldale:
Merin Oakley (#30) brought the opening kickoff for the 2nd half out to the 20 yard line with a block by John Pinney (#85).
Trevor Rabbitt (#32) just missed this pass on 3rd & 18 early in the 3rd quarter and the Cardinals were forced to punt.
The band's "Versus" marching program is full of "conflict".
Steven Majike emerged from this pile with a recovered Hilldale fumble with 7:13 left in the 3rd quarter. Collinsville had the ball at Hilldale's 20 yard line.
Steven Majike (#36) reached the 15 yard line on one of his rare offensive carries.
With 4th and 3 from the Hilldale 13, Collinsville fumbled turning the ball over to Hilldale at 5:21 in the 3rd quarter.
Merin Oakley (#30) reached the Hilldale 43 on this 4th and 4 play with under 2 minutes left in the game to pick up a first down. After several more plays and penalties (holding Collinsville and personal foul Hilldale) Oakley made another first down (catch) at the 25 yard line with 57 seconds left.
John Pinney (#85) scored Collinsville's only points on this 25 yard pass from Shane Douglas. This pulled Collinsville within 1 point with just 39.7 seconds left.
This was the extra point attempt by Collinsville near the game's end. Sometimes I have the best "seat" in the house (standing beyond the endzone) but I couldn't see if the snap was muffed or the kick blocked, but in either case Hilldale escaped with a 1-point (6-7) win. The Cards onside kick attempt was recovered by Hilldale and they ran out the clock. Collinsville's record is 1-1 with a trip to Skiatook next on the schedule.
