Brady & Jackie Stephens (owners of the local Subway Shop) continue to show their belief in Collinsville's future with their expansion of the office area on the SW corner of 7th & Main. The old Subway was replaced in 2005 with the current building which also houses Liberty Tax and Doug's Grill. A new building just to the east was completed in 2008 and is now occupied by Collinsville Community Outreach (see advertisement on this page) and a tanning salon.
The Collinsville Chamber of Commerce provided a symbolic ribbon cutting Friday (March 27th) in front of the Collinsville Community Outreach office at 707 W. Main. L-R: Carolyn Smith, Susan Babbitt, Audrey McSperitt (CCO), Candy Thomas (CCO), Brady Stephen (Subway), Maci Stephens, Jackie Stephens (Subway), Wanda Nyburg, and Cory Slagle.

Subway Plans changed a bit since these initial 2004 plans (Jan 2005 City Meet status)

The new Subway was completed behind the old Subway before it was torn down in May 2005
The CCO office opened in January 2009.
Note: The Cyprus Amax Minerals Co. is conducting the soil testing in cooperation with the EPA but government funds are not paying for the soil testing as Cyprus is following up on the privately owned former Bartlesville-Zinc (B-Z) Smelter in Collinsvile which is east of the EPA site (which is the former Tulsa Fuel & Manufacturing Smelter). Both smelters began operation in Collinsville in 1911.
A local mailer is in the works to explain further the soil testing process according to the folks at CCO today. -- Ted Wright 3/27/2009

Collinsville Community Outreach invites you their office at 707 W. Main to sign up for free soil testing. About 204 properties have been signed up for testing so far according to Audrey McSperitt. -- Ted 3/27/2009
