Collinsville's Nifty Fifties Alumni Association presented plaques to eleven CHS Seniors Tuesday May 6th at their 7th annual awards banquest. Barbara Harris Howard (CHS 1959) presented the Science Award to Lizzy Schultz.
Don Wasson (CHS 1954) presented the Vocal Music Award to Elizabeth Kelly.
Virgil Howard (CHS 1959) presented the Foreign Language Award to Christine Blue.
Bill Thomas (CHS 1950) presented the Social Studies Award to Mitchell Broesder.
Darlene Bowman Dunn (CHS 1959) presented the English Award to Saxon Lewis.
Willa Tucker Keith (CHS 1955) presented the Instrumental Music Award to Kristen Whaley.
Shirley Payne Williams (CHS 1953) presented the Math Award to Tou Lee Her.
John Combs (CHS 1958) presented the Business/Computers Award to Emilee Richburg.
Wanda Gaylord Coulter (CHS 1958) presented the Vocational Agriculture Award to Rachel Morgans.
Shirlene Gaylor Kerr (CHS 1955) presented the Art Award to Larissa Newland.
Ron Evans (CHS 1955) presented the Journalism/Yearbook Award to Jessica Dyer.
Alfred Robinson was running the projector for the Nifty Fifties program. Many other members help put on the successful annual banquet.
Per Ron Evans: "This is the Nifty Fifties opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievement of CHS's scholastic departments. The selections were made by a consensus of all teachers in each department in each area of award. The students receiving these awards have demonstrated performance that is clearly superb and recognized by teachers and students being the best."
$1000 Nifty Fifties scholarships will be presented to 4 of the seniors with the winners to be announced May 19th.
