Cards
Beat Skiatook 13-7 After Scoreless First Half
Adam
Thomas (#81) was run into on this 1st quarter punt giving the Cards a first
down on the first series of the game. Collinsville reached Skiatook's 40 yard
line before a tipped pass was intercepted. Three plays later David Chester recoved
a Skiatook fumble near mid field but neither team could sustain a drive in the
first quarter and traded punts.
Lance
Kite (#30) picked up yardage on this 1st quarter run with blocks from Nick Green
(#55) and Chance Riley (#80).
Kevin
Phillips (#36) made the open field tackle on this Skiatook ball carrier in the
1st quarter near the sideline.
Collinsville
missed on this scoring opportunity early in the 2nd quarter when Tyler Chronister's
pass was just beyond the reach of Chance Riley (#80) near the goal line. Collinville
was flagged on the play which would have brought it back any way. Collinsville
went for it on 4th down on the next play and another incomplete pass turned
the ball over on the Skiatook 30 yard line. The Cards started that series when
they held Skiatook on downs at the Collinsville 27 on the first play of the
2nd quarter.
The Cardinal
cheerleaders and fans had plenty to cheer for in this hard fought exciting
football game.
David
Chester (#82) zeros in for the tackle on this Skiatook ball carrier in the 2nd
quarter.
The
Crimson Cadet band performed their winning "When I Close My Eyes"
marching show for the 6th time in less than a week (not counting practices):
Cleveland halftime last Friday, OBA
prelim & finals at Moore last Saturday, CHS
assembly Tuesday, OSSAA at Skiatook Wednesday
(where they earned all I's) and this halftime at Sallee Field Thursday.
All
the cheer leaders (from Mighty Mites to CHS Varsity) performed a routine at
halftime they had learned at their summer
camp.
