Band Starts A New Championship Streak?

I had decided not to make the trip to Moore (to cover many closer activities Saturday) but was lucky enough to catch band director Ron Lewis at the band room about 2:15am this morning (Sunday) and get the report below. Louis and Peggy Keith were still there also before returning the now empty buses to CHS, but the kids has already left for sleep (or more celebration?).

The Collinsville Crimson Cadets won the High Music Award in preliminary competition and finished second just behind Piedmont in 4A. In the finals performance Collinsville came out highest in 4A and 2nd overall against the best 4A and 5A bands in the state. Collinsville also won the High General Effect Award in finals.

Collinsville's little band has now regained the state championship title after losing out in 2004 despite a fine program and performance at OBA. Prior to 2004 the Collinsville band held their class championship for 10 consecutive years (1994 - 1995 - 1996 - 1997 - 1998 - 1999 - 2000 - 2001-2002 - 2003).
