Stopped Skiatook In Closing Minute For Win
The
4A State Champion CHS 2005 Softball
Lady Cardinals were honored at halftime with the youth cheerleaders looking
on. The only other time Collinsville won the softball state title was in 1972
on a game played just north of the Sallee Field football field (where the cars
park inside the fence now).
The
football Cardinals enter the long line of fans (stretching the length of the
field) to start second half action with Skiatook here Thursday Oct. 20th.
Tyler
Chronister kicked the extra point after Collinsville first touchdown in the
3rd quarter above (see first page for TD photo). The extra point kick after
the second Cardinal TD was wide leaving Collinsville's lead at 13-7 in the 4th
quarter.
With
1:25 left in the 3rd quarter the Collinsville defense came up big with another
4th down stop of Skiatook at the Card's 13 yard line.
The
offensive line provides protection on this play late in the 3rd quarter as the
Cards moved from their own 13 into Skiatook territory to begin the 4th quarter.
Collinsville
head coach Bob Craig was proud of his team's effort in picking up their third
win of the season with plenty of player stepping up to fill positions of injured
players.
Now
that I have the football game pages online (2:45pm Friday afternoon) ... I'll
start trying to decide what to do with all the senior and softball team photos.
