Herald Hustle before Thanksgiving raised $21K; art helps with reading
skills (Amanda teaching)

- Kathy Trost is CUE Teacher of Year;
Santa activities including first ever Santa beard removal and ID challenge
by 3rd grader; math and reading benchmarks; kids to skating at Thrills
& Wheels; Dec. 18th 4th grade to Claremore Veterans; Dec. 19 Christmas
Assembly;

- Lori Brown is 6th Grade Teacher of Year;
not much Santa; field day to thank kids; chorus Boar's Heade Feast including
6th grader piano accompanist; Library "book tasting" with

no Santa; turkey bowling before Thanksgiving by Student Council, 1700
cans collected; letter to soldiers in Korea before Christmas; Dance
Dec. 19 with ugly sweaters; Cherokee Language Challenge 2nd & 3rd
finish; School Nurse (Brandi Glasscock) very busy: ~28 kids per day

- Stacy Dutton is HS Teacher of Year;
also no Santa as students are worried about finals this time of year;
380 were exempt the day before Thanksgiving break (~half); Hometown
Christmas program was cancelled; Band winter concert is Thurs Dec. 12,
Boar's Head was this past weekend; Angel Trees; security radios have
arrived and are being tested; basketball toutnaments this weekend and
wrestlers to Mid-American at Enid.
7. Discussion and Vote
to Approve the Substitute Salary Schedule -- Approved,
raised to be competitive with local schools all competing for same subs
(will take effect Jan. 1, 2020)
8. Discussion and Vote to Accept Board of Education Policy Changes
-- Approved, updated wording for service animals
(therapy & emotional support) to match new laws
9. Directors Report
* CNP-Janah - Thanks for Angel fund transfer,
still not all student debt covered; more meal options for medical allergies
- for example gluten free pizza and special diets for special needs; portion
control for diabetics (individually specified)
* Financial-Crutchfield - addressing audit concerns raised,: cleaned
up process to prevent late tax payment (with penalty), paying teacher
retirement will be added to contracts, still searching for least-bad solution
to paying teachers mid-month which concerns auditors for paying before
services rendered for rest of that month; in good shape for December cash
flow

* 2890 current enrollment, up about 120 over last year
* Finances OK
* School calendar, 180 days contracted but in 170s recently ... still
planning Fridays off in May / part of April
* Planning "Support Person of Year" - new award
* UCO -vs- Washita wrestling here Jan. 4th (UCO
bringing their own mats)
