Collinsville Business Restoring Building Front Destroyed In
January 2017 Crash
Starting to look familar again -- Pre brick detail continues to emerge as work continues on the new facade for Collinsville's Silver Doller Cafe at 11th and Main. The original building is about 106 years old. A car crashed into the building January 23, 2017 and took out the middle support post causing the front facade to cave in.
The new steel frame for the restoration of the front of the building came up during the Tri-County Fair August 19, 2017. The business has been open for customers (after just a short outage in January) with a false front in place pending the rebuild.
